from my cart when I went to checkout. What happened?

Damn! I put a product into my cart and when I try to check out it
tells me that there "isn't enough" of the product to order
and that it cannot be back ordered. What's the deal?
Do you have a physical
store we can visit?
Nope. We are strictly a warehouse mail room operation. A
technologically amplified virtual closet. We exist solely on the
web. No customers here for safety reasons. But, if they miraculously
materialized, we'd put them to work.
We get a number of inquries monthly as to the whereabouts of our
retail locations, and based on the email alone, if we ever were
to open a retail version of DressThatMan.com the consensus is that
it would have to be based in Los Angeles, California.
Since additional overhead costs would be required to have a DressThatMan
retail location in LA, major price increases would then have to
be passed down to the customer. While we know many of you wouldn't
mind at all paying more, we don't anticipate opening any retail
operations at this time. As for the future? We wouldn't exactly
rule anything out!

Do
you have a catalog?
Nope. Nada. If you've spent any time on the site, you'll
soon find out that we deal predominately in unique, one-of-a-kind
mainly vintage items for men only.
IF we printed a catalog, it would be obsolete before it ever hit
your doormat. Things have a tendency to move pretty fast around
here.
Essentially... the only catalog we have is on this website. You'll
have to feel your monitor and pretend you are flipping pages for
that simulated effect.

I buy advertising space on your site?
Absolutely not. We don't sell advertising space or run ads on our
site. And, we've vowed never to do that.

Franchise opportunities and/or licensing to operate a DressThatMan.com
retail outlet are not available. We have no plans to franchise the
operations at this time.

Do
you sell anywhere else?
Not any more. We used to sell on ebay years ago, but... we
closed down the ebay operations to concentrate solely on DressThatMan.
Once in a while we might throw something up on ebay, but... it's
a rare and unpredictable event.

Do
you sell wholesale vintage clothing?
We do not have a wholesale program, nor do we sell sorted or unsorted
lots at bulk prices. We're quite careful regarding the merchandise
we accept and what little slips through the cracks that doesn't
make it on the site is donated to a local center which helps the
homeless.

Do
you BUY mens vintage clothing?
YES, we do. BUT... only the good stuff, man! We love unworn, new
with the tags DEADSTOCK mens vintage clothing - it all depends on
the actual merchandise - sizing, color, cut, fabrics, etc. For further

do I navigate the site?
Generally, all of the
links you need are on every page of the site to the left of the
page and on the top of the page. There are search links on the merchandise
category pages and a search box at the top right of this page and
all of the pages on the site. If you are experiencing difficulties
navigating the site, or looking for something specific, see the

Where
do you get all this stuff?
While you sleep, we are scouring the globe. When you are awake,
we may still be shopping. DressThatMan's buyers are super savvy
garment zombies who enjoy the thrill of the hunt and chase and take
pride in the fact that we hand pick all of our selections according
to higher standards. Not much makes us happier than finding great
stuff that ultimately makes you happy. Then it's happy - happy -
happy ...all the way around. We love that. Although, we get some
of our best vintage merchandise directly from the original owners,
the man who loved his vintage fashions and still does, except he
can't fit into it anymore and wants it to have a good home. Some
items come from estate sales, vintage shops and through an ever
increasing network of reliable people who buy things specifically
for DressThatMan.com and know us by our high standards.

What
if I get something and I want to return it?
That never ever happens. But, if you happen to be the one exception
to that rule, we'll work with you. You have 48 hours to contact
us after you receive your order so, if there is a problem, please
contact us within that 48 hour time frame. We'll issue you a return
authorization number and you'll have a maximum of one week - 7 days
- to get it back to us at your expense without incurring restocking
fees (2 weeks for International customers). Once we receive the
merchandise in the condition we sent it out to you in, we'll issue
you a refund. We don't charge restocking fees if the item(s) are
returned in a timely manner according to our policies - delays in
returning items to us will cost you an additional 10% for each
week they are late in arriving back. See

for the shipping cost both ways, unless we've grossly misrepresented
an item, in that case we will refund you the cost of the item you
purchased including the shipping both ways. We're fair. And, we'll
admit to our mistakes.

- get a return authorization number - get it back to us quickly
to avoid additional restocking fees! read

Don't be a jerk and let us know you're returning something and then
wear it to a party and send it back. These clothes talk to us and
we'll know. If you can't afford to buy something, then please have
enough consideration to rent something locally. If we think you
tried pulling a fast one on us like that, we'll send the polyester
passion goon squad over to publicly spank you. And, we won't give
you a refund. Especially around the Halloween costume party season.
So, you can't say you haven't been warned. You have. If you're going
to try that scam on, you're well advised to go elsewhere. Don't
want that disco leisure suit after you've worn it to a party? You
can always sell it on ebay!

Do

Due to customer demand,
we have a business phone.
As an internet based business,
we prefer to handle inquiries via email, but... due to customer
demand, we know that there are times when talking to a living, breathing
human being can be helpful. If you have questions about merchandise
shipping or are having problems while ordering, give us a call and
we'll do our best to help sort things out. Certain questions and
inquiries are better handled by email,
such as requesting extra measurements, color verification, etc.

Why
do you ship everything within the USA by USPS Priority Mail?
Because we deal in volume. Packages are picked up daily during regular
business hours at the warehouse via USPS truck and, extradited with
delivery confirmation which will get to you FAST if you have an
address within the USA.
We
adore our postman. Go Al. You rock. Plus, you put up with us and
all of our stuff rain or shine. Al makes the United States Postal
Service proud. Us, too. We really need to petition to get Al's face
on a stamp.

about International Orders? Do you ship Internationally?
Orders
shipped to Canada and all other International destinations are sent
either by Airmail, Global Priority or Global Express depending on
the value, volume and destination of the purchase. International
orders should reach you within 4 - 10 days. Get
your order in by 9 am EST during regular business hours, Monday
through Friday (excluding holidays) and your International order
will go out the SAME DAY!
You
will receive an email confirmation when your merchandise has shipped
- providing you have supplied us with the correct email address
when you placed your order.
NOTE:
If

types of payment do you accept?
We accept Credit Cards on our secure server. Visa, Mastercard, Discover
and American Express. We also accept PayPal express payments.

your Credit Card and PayPal express gets you fast shipping. 99.9%
of the time buyers in the USA pay for merchandise via Credit Card
and the order goes out the very NEXT business day shipping. Sometimes,
the SAME DAY depending on the time we receive the order.

you send us chocolate, particularly literal poundage of authentic
Cadbury's Chocolate with any kind of nuts and/or fruit .... specifically

BUT...
don't ever tell us you are sending chocolate. Because if it doesn't
reach us and you said you did send it, after 5 days, some very bad

Sizing
and Measuring
Whether it's retro vintage merchandise or modern day designer clothing,
we measure everything. You'll see that when you pull up a specific
item from our stock in the store.

When it comes to Vintage Clothing - old is not new again when it
comes to sizing. That's why we take measurements of our clothing
and note it in the listings. While today's manufacturers DO sometimes
vary greatly in sizing, true VINTAGE clothing is vastly different.
Notably smaller. Humans have apparently supersized in modern society
and very few vintage garments can be obtained in those extra large
sizes.
We
cannot stress it enough... Check your measurements against those
listed before ordering !
We cannot be held responsible for any hasty maneuvers you may make.
Like, looking at the screen at something and saying in your head,
"that'll fit me," won't cut it. Measure once. No wait...
...

Grading our Merchandise
It's all good, baby! And THAT is why we don't have a GRADE or RATING
system for our merchandise. We note all defects we find in any garment
we have for sale. If a item has noticeable flaws or wear we will
document them on the page which offers details on the specific item
in question. On occasion, we may offer a collectable vintage item
that is obviously flawed but is much too fabulous not to list. We
make that information very clear in the merchandise listings.
We
take pride in our merchandise and don't list anything here on DressThatMan
that is not worthy of our quality control standards. And, we're
damn picky.
We've had quite a few college students inquire as to our listing
some things at a cheaper rate - like the things we used to sell
on ebay, so... we're doing that here and there now on the site,
and we try to make it as clear as possible in the listings any flaws
that those items may have. As some people are just looking for party
clothes they will only wear once, it's cool. But, keep in mind -
these things go FAST!

Is the
stuff you sell clean?
If we have not cleaned an item due to its delicate nature, we note
that in the listing along with any flaws we find. That is a rarity.
We don't send out dirty or stained up stuff. That would be entirely
gross. And, it's not the way we do business. You can assume the
item has been cleaned unless we note otherwise. If it's deadstock,
meaning it's Vintage and never been worn, we generally will never
unfold it or, remove the original tags, and sell it as it is. Sometimes
items we get that have been in storage for a long time in various
locations before we get them, and these items may have a slight
smell - BUT, we don't want to take off the tags and clean it - because
it's DEADSTOCK and so many of our customers LOVE new deadstock merchandise
and will launder items themselves.

Is
all of the stuff you sell Vintage?
Nope. Although the vintage stuff is our passion, we also sell gently
worn and unworn modern day brand name and designer clothing - sometimes
brand new in the package or with tags clothing. The details will
be listed on the page which offers details on the specific item
in question. If it's brand new or like new, we say so. If it has
got any noticeable wear, we tell you that as well. Check through
our racks, we've got many modern fashions for men with designer
and brand names such as, Christian Dior, Botany 500, Hart Schaffner
and Marx, Ralph Lauren, Ermenegildo Zegna, Orvis, Brooks Brothers,
Levi Strauss and many more. Check back periodically, we're adding
stock on a regular basis.

Why
do your pictures take so long to load, and they seem too big?
The
site is optimized for a broadband connection, if you are using dial-up
internet services, it takes more time for the pictures to load.
If the pictures seem too big, it's probably the resolution of your
monitor. The site was designed
using a monitor resolution of 1024x768 pixels. We recommend that
you use the 1024x768 resolution for the optimal shopping experience
on DressThatMan. Our product pictures are optimized at high resolution
for top quality, some which may be larger than what you'll find
on other sites, mainly because this is the Internet and we want
you to know exactly what you are getting, which makes having high
quality pictures a priority for our customers.
Unfortunately, some colors and fabrics are difficult to capture
and pictures alone will not do them any justice. But, that's another
story. We often attempt to describe items more when this happens.

Can
we rent your merchandise for a photo shoot, film or party or other
event?
Nope.
Sorry, at this time DressThatMan does not offer merchandise on rental
or loan. After careful consideration, we don't anticipate any change
to that policy in the future due to the nature of vintage. There
are other avenues for costume rental available to you either locally
or, possibly online. If you want something you see, you'll have
to buy it.
We have worked with many costume departments, designers, production
companies, theater groups, etc. and will work out an arrangement
with you for an extension of the normal return time turnaround for
fittings.

Hey! Something
I wanted to order disappeared from my cart when I went to checkout.
What happened?
We're sorry! This doesn't happen very often but
it has happened on occasion. What happens is this: you put an article
into your shopping cart - and... at the same time, so did another
customer. What happened was that the other customer then went through
the check out process, or entered it, just before you did. Most
likely while you were browsing other items. So, they are in the
checkout process and "your" item of merchandise disappears.
They got to it first. How frustrating is that? Very. If this has
happened to you, contact us and if the
speedy customer in question doesn't pay for the merchandise and
complete the transaction, we'll see to it that you can get it before
we put it back into online stock.

Damn!
I put a product into my cart and when I try to check out it tells

Talk
about bad timing and possible bad karma! We're so sorry if this
has happened to you. It's only happened a few times before and now,
you are completely bummed out. What happens is this: you put an
article into your shopping cart - and... right before you did that,
another customer had already purchased the article, or has begun
the checkout process. Since the merchandise is unique and one-of-a-kind,
it's no longer available. That explains the error message you got.
If
this has happened to you, contact us
and if the speedy customer in question doesn't pay for the merchandise
and complete the transaction, we'll see to it that you can get it
before we put it back into online stock.

Privacy Policy
We don't share, trade or give away your personal information ever.
Unless you send us a fraudulent payment. Then we'll hunt you down.
Dress you in an ugly frock and parade you around town while we film
you in it. You'll be damn sorry. And so will we. Because, at first,
we really liked you.
Seriously though... don't try to scam us, because then we'll have
no other choice than to turn it over to the proper authorities.
And of course, we will then ban your IP address from accessing our
site and stick pins in a doll with your name on it. It's just not
cool all the way around.

information you have submitted that we have obtained via our shopping
cart, is as follows: if you place a fraudulent order, repeatedly

was delivered to you - your name, delivery address, email address
used, and other identifiable will be turned over to the proper authorities.

Is
your site secure?
We are confident our site is secure! The payment end of the site
uses SSL - Short for Secure Sockets Layer. This is the Internet
electronic transaction protocol used to obtain confidential user
information, such as credit card numbers. By convention, URLs that
require an SSL connection start with https, and if you are
looking for it, you'll see that when you go through the checkout
process itself. The fact is your credit card information is never
even revealed to the staff at DressThatMan.com because it is encrypted
during the checkout process when it is processed through our payment
gateway.
Your
personal information is actually more secure here than if you allow
someone to pick up your credit card and walk away with it to process
your payment for dinner at a restaurant.

How
we protect YOU against Credit Card Fraud
When using a credit card during the checkout process, our shopping
cart requires the input of a CCV number. What's that? It's
an authentication verification number established by credit card
companies to reduce fraud for internet and mail order transactions.
It consists of requiring a card holder to enter the CCV number
during the checkout time to verify that the card is on hand. This
increases our commitment to protect DressThatMan customers from
fraud and reduces our exposure to fraudulent charges.
Because identity theft is on the rise - we do NOT automatically
ship out merchandise if the shipping and billing address does NOT
match, or... if the originating IP does not match the order; we
will require identification to protect the credit card holder before
shipping. We recommend other online merchants do the same to prevent
company loss and to protect the consumer.

Where
do I find the CCV number on my Credit Card?
The Credit Card Verification number is a non-embossed
number printed on the credit card.
For Visa, MasterCard, and Discover
cards, the number is located on the back of your card near the top
of the signature box. The number is the last 3 digits on the row
of numbers.
For American Express cards, the number is located on the front of
your card, on the right hand side above your card number. The number
on American Express cards is four digits long.

I ship to an Alternate Address? Yes,

Shipping Addresses and Fraud Prevention
If you request that your order is shipped
to an alternate address, to prevent ourselves and consumers against
fraud and identity theft, you may be required to furnish via FAX
any or all of the following information before we will ship your
order: a copy of your current drivers license or passport, the name
of the issuing bank and telephone number which appears on the back
of the credit card used, and your signature on a copy of the order
placed. We reserve the right to refuse any
shipment at our discretion. No
express orders will be shipped to an alternate address unless we
have ALL of the above information faxed to us.
We will NOT ship any merchandise out of the US that is placed by
a consumer in the USA - we suggest that you receive the merchandise
at your residence and re-mail the package yourself. We accept International
orders from the originating country only, with any exceptions noted.

Celebrities, musicians and others who are living their lives in
the public eye can positively rest assured that we will not tattle
in regard to your shopping habits to the tabloids or anyone else,
nor will we release any personal information in any way, shape or
form that you provide in the course of placing an order. Fact is,
we HAVE already sold merchandise to those in the public eye! While
we'd love to have your picture and name placed in our celebrity
spotlight, we won't beg, plead or hound you to do it. But, we'll
tell you right here and now that we'd love it if you joined that
elite group, and... by allowing us to publish
your photograph wearing our clothes we're more than happy provide
a link back to your website. Reciprocal public relations, baby.
Makes sense to us. Same deal for you dudes in the scene known as
the local public eye. Got a band? Got talent you want to show off?
Send us some pics of you wearing our clothes and will give you some
free publicity. And, yes... even if your just a regular guy who
wants to show off while you're wearing our clothes, we'll showcase
your good looks here.
Bottom line is your personal privacy is important to us. Celebrity
or not, if the authorities don't put the pressure on us, we have
no reason to tell. And why would they ever do that?
They
wouldn't. Even if they did, depending on our mood, we might be able
to wait out the hot lights and questions while pleading the fifth
