We are confident our site is secure! The payment end of the site uses SSL - Short for Secure Sockets Layer. This is the Internet electronic transaction protocol used to obtain confidential user information, such as credit card numbers. By convention, URLs that require an SSL connection start with https, and if you are looking for it, you'll see that when you go through the checkout process itself. The fact is your credit card information is never even revealed to the staff at DressThatMan.com because it is encrypted during the checkout process when it is processed through our payment gateway.

Your personal information is actually more secure here than if you allow someone to pick up your credit card and walk away with it to process your payment for dinner at a restaurant.

How we protect YOU against Credit Card Fraud
When using a credit card during the checkout process, our shopping cart requires the input of a CCV number. What's that? It's an authentication verification number established by credit card companies to reduce fraud for internet and mail order transactions. It consists of requiring a card holder to enter the CCV number during the checkout time to verify that the card is on hand. This increases our commitment to protect DressThatMan customers from fraud and reduces our exposure to fraudulent charges.

If you request that your order is shipped to an alternate address, to prevent ourselves and consumers against fraud, you may be required to furnish via FAX any or all of the following information before we will ship your order: photo identification, a copy of your current drivers license or passport, the name of the issuing bank and telephone number which appears on the back of the credit card used, and/or your signature on a copy of the order placed. We reserve the right to refuse any shipment at our discretion.

No orders will be shipped to an alternate address unless we have ALL of the above information faxed to us.


We will NOT ship any merchandise out of the US that is placed by a consumer in the USA - we suggest that you receive the merchandise at your residence and re-mail the package yourself. We accept International orders from the originating country only, with any exceptions noted.

Foreign Orders and Fraud Prevention
If you are
a new International customer residing outside of the USA and place an order with DressThatMan.com, you will be asked to provide proof of identity before any merchandise is shipped. While we have many loyal international customers, foreign orders pose more fraud risk for online merchants in the USA. After we receive your ID, you'll be able to order from us at any time in the future and your order will be shipped without delay.


Where do I find the CCV number on my Credit Card?
The Credit Card Verification number is a non-embossed number printed on the credit card.

For Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards, the number is located on the back of your card near the top of the signature box. The number is the last 3 digits on the row of numbers.

For American Express cards, the number is located on the front of your card, on the right hand side above your card number. The number on American Express cards is four digits long.

Having problems placing a Credit Card order?
Our payment gateway services and authorization center for customers using Credit Cards to place orders, is a separate entity from DressThatMan.com connected to the banking industry. We never see your credit card numbers.

We get email notification when you have attempted to place an order that did not go through and, of course, for all orders that have been verified and accepted.

Common problems with Credit Card payment authorization refusal are:
no CCV value entered or - incorrect CCV value entered what is the CCV value and where do I find it?

the billing address does not match the Credit Card entered
the card entered MUST match the billing statement the cardholder receives

incorrect Credit Card number, incorrect expiration date, etc.

We have no control over Credit Card payment authorization and acceptance, the best advice we can give you is to follow the error codes on the screen to determine the problem and correct it.

Adding extra charges to your order
As stated above, our payment authorization center for customers using Credit Cards to place orders, is a separate entity from DressThatMan.com connected to the banking industry. We never see your credit card numbers.

We can't add extra charges to your order because we do not have the authority to do so. Only you can pay for those charges. If additional payment is necessary for shipping or for some other reason, you will be notified and we will inform you via email as to the procedure.

fraudulent orders and identity theft
Our server logs all orders - even those that have failed, along with your IP address of your computer. If you are attempting to place a fraudulent order by using credit cards that are in question as to whether they are yours, or you are using a proxy service in an attempt to hide or mask your true IP address - we will compile this all of this information including the address you are attempting to have merchandise delivered to, and turn it over to the proper authorities and your order will not be processed even IF you manage to get it through. We take fraud and identity theft very seriously at DressThatMan.com.

shipping charges


Shipping is flat rate and based on combined weight. The shipping charges will be calculated by the shopping cart on page 2 of the checkout process page. You will see them BEFORE you select your payment method and finalize your payment. We have recently increased our shipping charges due to shipping rate hikes.

Buyers in the USA will pay 6 US dollars for the 1st pound and 2 US dollars for each additional pound in weight. Buyers in the USA can add FedEx 2 day service for an additional 20 US dollars (no Saturday delivery). Or, select FedEx overnight service for an additional 39 US dollars - no Saturday delivery on regular FedEx overnight.
See below for details. If you need Saturday overnight FedEx delivery, please choose the upgraded option upon checkout.

Canadian orders will pay 17 US dollars for the first pound and 3 US dollars for each additional pound in weight. Other International orders will pay 24 US dollars for the 1st pound and 4 US dollars for each additional pound in weight. USPS Global Express Guaranteed is available in some countries for an additional charge. Please inquire.

how we ship


shipping orders in the USA
All orders in the USA are shipped via USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. Most of our customers report that they receive their merchandise in 2 - 3 business days. Get your order in by 9 am EST during regular business hours, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) and your order will go out the SAME DAY Priority Mail. You will receive an email confirmation when your merchandise has shipped - providing you have supplied us with the correct email address, and your billing and shipping address match when you placed your order.

USA - USPS Priority Mail
USPS Priority Mail is sent out each day during regular business hours, Monday through Friday on orders received prior to 9 am Eastern Standard time. Of course, we have no control over the US Postal Service, but... they have been right on time so far for us with thousands of packages. We have plenty of faith in USPS, but of course, we can't be held responsible for any delays attributed to them. We do our job and let them take care of the rest.

USA - FedEx Express 2 Day Service
Get your order in by 9 am EST during regular business hours, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) and your order will go out the SAME DAY. If you choose the FedEx Express 2 day option, please note that they will deliver only Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) If you require FedEx overnight SATURDAY delivery, for a Friday order... choose the option at checkout.
NOTE: If your billing and shipping address do NOT match, your shipment will be delayed.


USA - FedEx Overnight Delivery
Get your order in by 9 am EST during regular business hours, Monday through Thursday (excluding holidays) and your order will go out the SAME DAY. If you choose the additional FedEx Overnight delivery, which adds 39 US dollars to your shopping cart, you will recieve your order overnight - except for Saturday. If you require FedEx overnight SATURDAY delivery, for a Friday order... choose the option at checkout.

NOTE: If your billing and shipping address do NOT match, your shipment will be delayed.



shipping INTERNATIONAL Orders

Orders shipped to Canada and all other International destinations are sent either by Airmail, Global Priority or Global Express depending on the value, volume and destination of the purchase. International orders should reach you within 4 - 10 days. Get your order in by 9 am EST during regular business hours, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) and your International order will go out the SAME DAY - providing you have supplied us with the proper identification so we can process your order *. You will receive an email confirmation when your merchandise has shipped - providing you have supplied us with the correct email address when you placed your order.

NOTE: If your billing and shipping address do NOT match, your shipment will be delayed.
* New International customers will be required to verify their identity before an order is shipped.

New International customers must supply ID
We have hundreds of loyal International customers... all of our NEW International customers must supply us with photo ID and a signed copy of the original order before an order is shipped. Why is this identity verification a requirement? Due to a high number of credit card charge backs from International orders as unauthorized, and/or fraudulent, we need to confirm your identity and order before making an initial shipment. Once your ID is on file, you won't be requested to send it for future orders.

What if I don't have a scanner? Most people take a photograph of their ID and the signed copy of the order they placed and send it to us as an email attachment.

If the ID is not received within 48 hours, we will refund the credit card used and return the items to stock.

Know your import laws

International buyers should know their customs laws. You are responsible for any additional fees your country may charge in the form of import duties. We declare the actual price you paid for merchandise on the customs forms without exception.

All custom duties in the country where a shipment is received is the responsibility of the buyer. DressThatMan cannot be held liable for any subsequent tax you owe once a shipment arrives. We declare the actual price you paid for merchandise on the customs forms without exception. If we receive a refused order back from your country, we will refund you only for the price of the merchandise ordered. If you wish to reorder the merchandise after it has been sent back to us as refused, you will have to pay the shipping charges again.

International Global Express Guaranteed
Shipping Global Express Guaranteed is very expensive. We can quote you a rate for this service if you contact us via our contact page and tell us the item numbers that you wish to purchase and where you are at on planet earth and we will get back to you with option details. Order weight and destination charges vary which is why there is not an option to select when going through the checkout process. This has to be calculated on an individual basis and you will receive instructions via email to make payment for it. We will not ship Global Express Guaranteed without a prepayment.

Lost Packages? Who is liable?
The liability from DressThatMan.com as the seller to you (the addressee/receiver/buyer) occurs when the status of the USPS (or alternatively, FedEx) package tracking information is marked/shown as "Delivered" or "Notice Left". Until this happens, we are fully responsible for any lost packages. Since USPS automatically insures and tracks packages up to $100.00 - we do not require delivery signature on packages that are under than that amount. If the order is over $100.00 - we may add a signature at our discretion. As for FedEx packages, FedEx automatically insures packages up to $100.00 - therefore, we declare the actual value on all FedEx orders OVER $100.00. Also, please note that FedEx packages REQUIRE a signature on all orders OVER $500.00.


DressThatMan.com reserves the right, at our discretion, to add a signature confirmation to ANY order we send out.

If the package hasn't arrived, first check the tracking number provided - as this will generally provide the information needed. On rare occasions, we have had packages take a rerouted detour and finally make a delayed appearance to the addressee without any further explanation. If you do NOT receive a tracking number (first check your spam box in the email you used to place the order), buyers should contact us to confirm that the order was shipped.

If the USPS or FedEx tracking does NOT say "Delivered" or "Notice Left", and the buyer never received the package, DressThatMan.com as the seller is liable for issuing the refund or replacing the products.

If the tracking DOES state "Delivered" or "Notice Left", the transaction is complete and DressThatMan.com is no longer responsible for replacing or refunding the item(s). If the buyer has not received the package, please ask your neighbors, family; the apartment manager (if applicable) and/or speak to your local post office (they may be holding the package) - if possible, speak directly to your mail carrier who delivered the package. Someone else might have accepted the parcel. If you believe your parcel was stolen, we would encourage you to file a police report and as well as a complaint with your local USPS or FedEx office.

Essentially, when an order is packed and a tracked package is marked as successfully delivered or notice left, we have fulfilled our obligation and are no longer responsible for issuing a refund or replacing products.

insurance
We've sent tens of THOUSANDS of packages worldwide via USPS and only ONE package has been lost and it was in the USA! The US Postal Service gets a BIG pat on the back from staff here at DressThatMan. USPS automatically insures parcels up to $100.00, and we reserve the right at our discretion to insure parcels for orders with a value OVER 100 dollars. FedEx also automatically insures parcels up to $100.00 - therefore, we declare the actual value on all FedEx orders OVER $100.00.


taxes for orders in the State of Michigan
Items shipped to the State of Michigan must pay 6% sales tax. The shopping cart will add this tax on the merchandise automatically as you go through the checkout process. Other states are not required to pay tax on merchandise ordered.

* In most cases, if you check the measurements listed against your own, you can avoid the hassle of getting something that doesn't fit, having to return it and losing money on shipping charges and paying a 10% restocking fee. Ugh. We hate that when that happens. And, so do you. On the other hand, if you didn't bother to measure and it doesn't fit you, rather than lose money on the return in the form of shipping charges and restocking, maybe the item will fit someone you know. At least that way, you could stare at it whenever they wore it. After all, you have great taste and you wanted it to begin with!

exceptions to the return rules
if we do NOT receive your return for refund within the allotted time allowed, 1 week for USA customers and 2 weeks for International customers after a Return Authorization Number has been issued - there is a 20% restocking fee for the 2nd week arrival - 30% for the 3rd, etc - that cost will be deducted from your refund when it does arrive. To avoid additional restocking fees beyond the 10%, send it back quickly!

Sorry but, SALE and CLEARANCE items are NOT returnable.
Vintage deadstock items are not returnable after unpinning and the removal of labels. No refunds on any other item which clearly states in the listing there is no return or refund.

On the other hand, if we screw up and grossly misrepresent something, we'll acknowledge the error, beg for forgiveness, ask you to return it to us and refund you the full amount. While we work hard at double checking all of the measurements in our listings, on rare occasions, it's humanly possibly something could slip through the cracks.

Regarding both Domestic and International Orders, we reserve the right to refuse a sale. We also reserve the right to ban your IP address from accessing our servers. We reserve the right to refuse a sale to any country in which fraud is a known and prevelant issue. If we feel that a purchase may be fraudulent, or we are simply invoking a random check, we may request additional proof of identification. In particular, any large Domestic or International orders from new customers, please be aware that you may be asked to fax us picture ID which shows your current address - which matches the shipping address of your order so that we can confidently process it. We're happy to say that overall we've been more than pleased with our Domestic and International Customers. Yet, it's an unfortunate reality that fraud is a serious issue worldwide.

Ugh. Once in a while we have to get serious. When the truth is, we'd rather be laughing and joking around while hanging around these snappy clothes. Why can't life be so simple?
